Joachim Reinhard "Achim" Hagemann (born August 8, 1965 in Recklinghausen ) is a German composer and musician. He was best known for his joint appearances with Hape Kerkeling .

Life

Hagemann and Kerkeling have known each other since the third grade and were also students at the Marie Curie grammar school in Recklinghausen, where Hagemann's parents also taught. There they founded the school rock band Gesundfutter and released the album Hawaii . In his childhood he first played drums.

After graduating from high school and doing community service, he studied at the Robert Schumann Music Academy in Düsseldorf. From 1989 to 1991 he played with Kerkeling in the seven-part comedy series Total Normal and was particularly popular with the song Hurz! known to a wider audience. Theodor Hurz, who gave the song its name, lived above Hagemann's Düsseldorf studio.

In terms of composition, Hagemann was responsible for the well-known Kerkeling songs The whole life is a quiz and a flare . He also wrote the music for the movie Horst Schlämmer - Isch kandidiere! (2009). He also composed the music for the German television series Der kleine Vampir - Neue Abenteuer (1993), which was sung by the princes and for which he and Christian Görlitz received the Adolf Grimme Prize in 1994 . He also wrote songs for Max Raabe and 2raumwohnung .

Under the pseudonym Pawel Popolski, Hagemann is the drummer of the pseudo-Polish cabaret marching band The Pops with the program The Popolski Show . With this band he was nominated for the Prix ​​Pantheon in 2006. At the end of August 2008 a small series started with The Popolski Show in the WDR late evening program, which was praised by critics. For this, Hagemann was nominated for the German Television Award 2008 in the category Best Comedy . The programs were nominated for the Adolf Grimme Prize in 2009.

In November 2011, the premiere of the musical No Pardon - The Musical based on the film of the same name by Hape Kerkeling took place in the Capitol Theater Düsseldorf , to which Hagemann contributed a large part of the music. He also acts as the jury president for the Recklinghäuser Hurz Comedy Prize . This was launched in 2017 on the occasion of the 1000th anniversary of the city of Recklinghausen in honor of the sketch of the same name and has been awarded annually since then.
