Katharina Schridde

Katharina Klara Schridde (* 1964 in Berlin-Reinickendorf as Barbara Schridde ) is a Protestant Benedictine nun , pastor and author.

Life

After school and Abitur , Schridde began studying history in her hometown of Berlin in 1982. However, she broke off her studies and began training as a pediatric nurse at the Auguste Viktoria Hospital in 1989 . She experienced the work on the children's cancer ward particularly intensely.

At the German Evangelical Church Congress in the Ruhr area in 1991, she first came into contact with the Casteller Ring community , a religious order of women within the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Bavaria . Schridde moved to Schwanberg in 1992 and began her membership in the religious community as usual with a novitiate , which she concluded with her profession in 1997 .

From 1995 she studied Protestant theology in Erlangen. She is an ordained pastor in the church province of Saxony . From 2008 until the dissolution in 2011, she was in charge of the community's ward in the Augustinian monastery in Erfurt and was a pastor at the Augustinian church there. She currently lives in Berlin again.

Furthermore, she works as an author. Purposeless being before God through the life of the founder of the community Christel Felizitas Schmid received the Argula von Grumbach Prize of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Bavaria.
