Lutheran publishing house

The Lutherische Verlagshaus GmbH (LVH), founded in 1947 as Lutherhausverlag, was a church publishing house owned by the Evangelical Press Association of Northern Germany. Until 2014 the publishing house was owned by the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Hanover . The publishing house was based in the old town of Hanover .

The publishing house was founded in 1947 under the name "Lutherhausverlag" and belonged to the Office for Community Service (since 2002: House of Church Services ) of the Hanoverian regional church. In 1982 the Lutherische Verlagshaus Hamburg (formerly in Berlin) was acquired. In 1987 the theology program of the Johannes Stauda publishing house was added. From 1992 the publishing house operated exclusively under the name "Lutherisches Verlagshaus". From 2010, the Lutheran publishing house belonged to the Evangelical Media Service Center (EMSZ) of the regional church and was administered in it.

The publishing house was responsible for the management of the Evangelischer Kirchenfunk Niedersachsen GmbH (ekn) and the Verband Evangelischer Publizistik Niedersachsen-Bremen gGmbH (VEP). In June 2014 it was announced that the Hanoverian regional church is closing the Lutheran publishing house. On January 1, 2015, the Evangelical Press Association of Northern Germany (epn) took over the publishing house in Kiel, which was finally closed at the end of June 2017 as part of insolvency proceedings.

The publisher's program included books, magazines and other media from the fields of religion, society, theology and history. He publishes liturgical titles, agendas and practical workbooks as well as u. a. the ggg series, “creating a worship service together”.

Holdings

Lutherische Verlagshaus GmbH was involved in the Evangelisches Gottesdienstbuch publishing association and the Evangelisches Gesangbuch publishing association (in cooperation with Schlüterschen, Hanover, and Vandenhoeck & Ruprecht , Göttingen).
