Denis Moschitto [ mosˈkitːo ] (born June 22, 1977 in Cologne ) is a German film actor .

Life

The son of an Italian and a Turkish woman was born in Cologne, where he grew up. Moschitto already played theater during his school days. In his youth he was also active in the hacker scene . Together with William Evrim Sen he published the book Hackerland - The Logbook of the Scene in 1999 . The second book by Sen and Moschitto was published in 2000 under the title Hackertales - Stories from Freund + Feind . After graduating from high school, Moschitto began studying philosophy before devoting himself to his acting career.

He was best known through films such as Verschwende Ihre Jugend , Süperseks , Kebab Connection and Chiko . Most recently he was in the film Almanya - Willkommen in Deutschland and previously in 1½ Ritter - In Search of the Adorable Herzelinde by and with Til Schweiger , which was released in German cinemas at the end of 2008. He also plays the role of Murat Kurnaz in Fatih Akın's short film The Name Murat Kurnaz .

Denis Moschitto received several awards for his portrayals, including a. in 2003 the Günter Strack TV Prize for Best Young Actor for the Tatort episode Romeo and Juliet . In 2009 he received a nomination for the German Film Award for Best Actor for his performance in the film Chiko .
