Carlos Diogo , full name Carlos Andrés Diogo Enseñat , (born July 18, 1983 in Montevideo ) is a former Uruguayan football player who also has an Italian passport.

Career

society

The 1.85 meter tall midfielder Diogo is the son of football player Víctor Diogo . He began his football career in the Clausura 2002 at River Plate Montevideo , for whom he played until the Clausura 2003, completed 74 league games and scored three goals. He then moved to Peñarol Montevideo . He belonged to the "Aurinegros" from the Torneo Clasificatorio 2004 to the Clausura 2004. In the latter half series, he played twelve times in the Primera División and hit the opposing goal once. At least in the Clausura 2005 he was then in the ranks of the Argentine club River Plate Buenos Aires , for which he played eleven first division games (one goal) during this period. From the 2005/06 season he continued his career in Spain with Real Madrid . In the 2005/06 season he was used 13 times (no goal) in the Primera División . From the 2006/07 to 2010/11 season he was under contract with Real Saragossa . The statistics show there six goals and 107 league games for him. After initially a return to Peñarol was in the room, but the there coach Gregorio Pérez waived Diogos services, he signed a contract with a term of six months and an option for a two-year extension with the Bulgarian club CSKA Sofia in January 2012 . However, he terminated this contract about two weeks later on February 2, 2012, expressed the wish to prefer to play in Brazil and paid a smaller amount of money to terminate the contract. In the 2012/13 season he completed 27 league games for the Spanish second division club Huesca , in which he scored three goals. In 2013 he joined the Belgian club KAA Gent and played there 13 times in the Pro League in the 2013/14 season. He scored two goals. He returned to Real Zaragoza in August 2014. There he was used nine times (no goal) in the Liga Adelante and once (no goal) in the Copa del Rey in the 2014/15 season . In January 2015 he left the club and ended his active career.

National team

Diogo was a member of the 2001 Uruguayan U-20 selection that took part in the 2001 U-20 South American Championship in Ecuador . There he was used at least in the 1-0 defeat in the group game against Colombia. He was also a member of the Uruguayan squad at the U-20 South American Championship in 2003 in Uruguay. In the 4-1 victory over Peru, he contributed one goal. In Uruguay's U-23 team, the Olympic selection, he completed two international games under coach Juan Ramón Carrasco , when he lost in the 3-0 game against Chile's selection on January 7, 2004 and in the 2-1 defeat against Paraguay on January 15, 2004 in the pre-Olympic South American U-23 qualification tournament was used. He didn't score a goal.

For the Uruguayan national team between March 28, 2003 and June 30, 2007 he was used a total of 22 times (no goal). In 2004 and 2007 he was in the Uruguayan squad at the Copa America .
