The SD Huesca ( Sociedad Deportiva Huesca ) is a Spanish football club from the city of Huesca in Aragón . The club, founded in 1922, rose after the 2014/15 season in the Segunda División B Group 2 to the Segunda División , in which he played until the 2017/18 season. At the end of this season, the club rose to second in the table for the first time in the Primera División.
history
In 1922 the club was under the name Huesca CF founded. Four years later, in 1926, the association was temporarily dissolved until it was re-established in 1929 under the name CD Huesca .
Since 1940 the club called itself UD Huesca before it was dissolved again in 1956: this time due to financial problems, immediately after the most successful period in club history, as Huesca played in the Segunda División , the second division of Spain for three years from 1950 to 1953 . In 2008 the team rose again after more than 50 years in the Segunda División. In the 2012/13 season the descent that followed Segunda División B . In 2015, Huesca rose again to the second division and in 2018 they made their first promotion to the top division of Spain. After a 2: 6 home defeat against Valencia CF on matchday 36, the direct relegation was certain. In 2020 the direct promotion to the Premiera Division was achieved with a 3-0 win against CD Numancia on the penultimate matchday. The former player of the German Bundesliga Shinji Okazaki managed the goal to make it 3-0.
