The Estadio El Alcoraz is the club's own football stadium of the Spanish club SD Huesca . Huesca is the capital of the province of the same name in the autonomous region of Aragon . The stadium has 5,300 seats, which apart from part of the main stand are in the open air. The venue takes its name from the Battle of Alcoraz , which took place in November 1096 between the Aragons and the Saracens outside of Huesca.

When the Tercera División , the third division at the time, was reorganized in the 1970s , the Segunda División B , the new third division, was created. On this occasion, the club built the El Alcoraz stadium. On January 16, 1972, the sports facility was inaugurated with the Derby SD Huesca against Deportivo Aragon and Huesca celebrated a 2-1 victory. The Spanish U-21 men's national football team played on June 6, 2003 at the Estadio El Alcoraz against Greece for the 2004 European Championship qualification . Spain won 2-0, but later failed in the playoffs to Sweden . Renovation work was carried out in 2007, mainly benefiting the main grandstand and changing rooms.

New stadium

There are plans to build a new stadium with a capacity of 10,000 to 12,000 spectators. It is to be built opposite the multipurpose hall Palacio Municipal de Deportes in Huesca, not far from the location of the old stadium. There is also a tennis facility nearby.
