The Estadio Municipal de Riazor ( officially Estadio Abanca-Riazor since June 2017 through a sponsorship agreement ) is a football stadium in the Spanish city ​​of A Coruña , Galicia . It is the home ground of the Deportivo La Coruña football club , which currently plays in the Segunda División . Today it offers 32,660 places. The facility, located directly on the Atlantic , has underfloor heating and a floodlight system .

history

The stadium was inaugurated on October 28, 1944 with the match between Deportivo La Coruña and Valencia CF (2: 3). It was a venue for the 1982 World Cup . At that time it was completely renovated for the first time. Another renovation took place between 1995 and 1998.
