The Estadio La Rosaleda ( German  rose garden stadium ) is a football stadium in the Spanish city of Málaga . It currently serves as the home ground of the Málaga Football Club .

history

The La Rosaleda stadium replaced the old Baños del Carmen stadium in 1941 . Due to a flood in the latter, the new venue was used for the first time on April 13, 1941, in a game between CD Malacitano and AD Ferroviaria de Madrid . But the official opening took place only on 14 September 1941, when CD Málaga of the current, the predecessor Málaga CF , the FC Seville met. In 1982 the stadium was renovated to serve as a venue for the soccer World Cup . The stadium ring was completely closed and the display boards were renewed. During the finals, La Rosaleda was used as a competition venue by the Soviet Union , Scotland and New Zealand . The last major renovation was carried out according to plans by the José Seguí architectural office between 2000 and 2006, since then it has accommodated 30,044 visitors, exclusively on seats.

owner

The stadium belongs equally to the city of Malaga , the province of Malaga and the autonomous region of Andalusia .
