The Estadio Anxo Carro ( Galician : Estadio Anxo Carro , Castilian : Estadio Ángel Carro ) is a football stadium in the Spanish city of Lugo . It serves as the home of the CD Lugo association .
history
The stadium opened on August 31, 1974 with a tournament between the home team and Deportivo La Coruña and Club Lemos . The field on the east bank of the Rio Miño replaced a stadium of the same name built in 1934 (from 1934 to 1960 still Estadio de Los Miñones ) and offered around 8,000 spectators when it opened. In 1986 the east stand was renovated and covered. For the first ascent of CD Lugo to the Segunda División in 1992, a covered audience area was built on the former natural grandstand on the north side of the venue. After another comprehensive reform in 2001, in which all grandstands were provided with seats, the capacity of the Estadio Anxo Carro was reduced to 4,785 visitors.
