action

Commissioner Inga Lürsen and her colleague Stedefreund are taken to the apartment of Dr. Philipp Lewald called. His wife Rojin, of Turkish descent, lies stabbed to death on her bed. Initially, suicide cannot be ruled out. However, after investigators find out that Rojin wanted to divorce and had a lesbian relationship with Dilek İlhan, they consider an honor killing possible. The autopsy ultimately also rules out a suicide .

The Korkmaz family is shaken by the death of their daughter. She is currently in the wedding preparations for Rojin's younger sister Arzu. She is supposed to marry a cousin whom Rojin had spurned at the time. Actually, Arzu also has a self-chosen boyfriend, but since her family has suffered a lot from the fact that her sister did not want to keep the family tradition, she is under great moral pressure, which prompts her to comply with the wishes of her family.

While Lürsen and Stedefreund are still investigating the actual suspects, Dilek İlhan is found dead. Someone must have attacked her with a knife and in the course of the fight she fell down the stairs. Although all investigations focus on the Korkmaz family, who may have tasked their youngest son with the honor killing of Rojin, Arzu's friend makes himself suspicious of having something to do with the death of Dilek İlhan. He is determined to kidnap Arzu and so he disrupts the wedding party and takes Arzu into his power. Lürsen and Stedefreund, who attend the celebration for investigative reasons, follow him and can provide him. In this situation, Arzu confesses to having killed her own sister. She had refused to help her. As a doctor-to-be, she was supposed to restore her honor through a hymenal reconstruction , and in the argument about this, Arzu had stabbed the kitchen with the knife. Dilek İlhan wanted to reveal her relationship with Haydar Kartal to the family, which she could not allow.

criticism

Rainer Tittelbach from tittelbach.tv says: “The Bremen 'Tatort' has always liked to provoke and kick off public debates. Sometimes someone hung on the meat hook, sometimes 14 deaths were counted in the Satanist slaughter. More questionable than the sensational effects in 'Family Constellation', however, is a dramaturgy that mobilizes anger, incomprehension and feelings of powerlessness in the viewer. The 'Tatort' also continues the tradition of the open end. It is believed to have found a tragic murderess. But can you know? Is this schizophrenic madness of a 19-year-old Turkish woman who is about to be forcibly married, although she is no longer a virgin, 'only' played in order to be able to return to the family at some point? Either way, both are insane. Against this 'system' of an Islamic family clan, even the conventions of TV crime novels fail. "

At Sueddeutsche.de , Harald Hordych judges: “Depicting German reality critically is part of Tatort's self-image, like the eyes in the opening credits of the show. But this task is not always approached with as much concentration on history as in Bremen, the smallest ARD station that was once called 'the left radio Bremen' because unusual formats and rebellious entertainment were often dared here - was under German roofs such a case. The Bremen Tatort also has something to do with this tradition. "

The critics of the TV magazine TV Spielfilm give the thumbs up for this crime scene and say: "Explosive and captivating, if sensational."
