action

A car with traces of blood and a severed finger are found in a parking garage at Bremen Airport. The clues lead the inspectors Inga Lürsen and Nils Stedefreund to Ole Bergener, the managing director of the now insolvent pharmaceutical agency Cebo, who has been missing for almost a year. In his widow Judith Bergener, however, there can be no question of missing. She explains that she received an email at the time that her husband wanted to get out. You have come to terms with it and disposed of everything. Using the waypoints from the vehicle's navigation system, the corpse is found in a box in the Hornet submarine bunker . The corpse is identified by the widow. She is now with Peter, her husband's boyfriend. His wife Maria Voss separated from him and their daughter after a serious car accident from which she had to recover for over a year. At the time, she was a manager at Cebo. Her number was the last on the victim's call log. With great effort and an iron will, she learned to walk again after the inexplicable accident. Maria now lives temporarily in the guest house of the pharmacy dealer Carl Bellheim and is working on her comeback, on her "return to the light". However, it turns out that her entire résumé is fake. All the photos from trips abroad on their web pages are taken, the selfies are made with expensive clothes in changing rooms. The success that she helped her employers to achieve came from buying dubious cheap cancer drugs that were sold at high prices to pharmacies. Whenever Maria's machinations were exposed, she was released without any fuss. Then she always changed companies. In addition, she manages that all men fall for her, even Nils Stedefreund seduces her. Since the accident, however, she has not managed to get back into the job, which is why she is now penniless. She has neither a bank account nor an apartment and is always out and about with inline skates in her eye-catching red coat . Now Carl Bellheim is supposed to place them in a company. When he explains to her, however, that no more corporations will fall for her and that she should leave the house, Maria stabs him in a rage with a pair of scissors. In the meantime, her husband Peter admits that he "disposed of" the body at the time. Maria had stabbed Bergener because he had warned all companies about her. When trying to arrest Maria Voss, she stabs herself with scissors in front of the police. In the end, the police and Maria's daughter enter the storage room in which she last "lived".

Reviews

“The 'Tatort' episode 'Back into the Light' is a drama that has been increased into the unreal about self-optimization, self-conquest, self-loss. Stereotypes about ambitious, successful people are inflated - and made to burst. "

“This time, too, the crime scene with the inspectors Inga Lürsen and Nils Stedefreund would rather be a thriller and a character study than a crime thriller, but if it gets stuck, it is because it goes wrong. [...] A crime scene that wants a lot and messes up a lot more. "

- Katharina Riehl : Süddeutsche Zeitung

“The resolution of the case comes up with crude, dutiful criticism of pharmaceutical companies. Instead of tension or a coherent plot, "Back into the Light" puts everything on the card named Maria. "

- Tobias Sedlmaier : Neue Zürcher Zeitung
