Nicki von Tempelhoff (born October 3, 1968 ) is a German actor .

life and work

Nicki von Tempelhoff was born in North Rhine-Westphalia . The family moved to the Netherlands shortly after he was born, but returned to Germany when von Tempelhoff was 15 years old. He completed his acting training from 1986 to 1989 at the Otto-Falckenberg-Schule in Munich and had his first engagement at the stages of the city of Cologne , of which he was a member from 1990 to 1993.

Further stations in his stage career were the Hamburg Thalia Theater (1995–1999) and the Burgtheater in Vienna (1999–2004). Since 1993 von Tempelhoff has also had engagements at the Münchner Kammerspiele , the Staatstheater Stuttgart , the Theater des Westens in Berlin, the Düsseldorfer Schauspielhaus , the Vienna Rabenhof Theater and again in Hamburg at the Deutsches Schauspielhaus , the St. Pauli Theater , the Kammerspiele and at the Ernst-Deutsch-Theater .

The range of his theater career includes roles in plays such as The Threepenny Opera , Mother Courage , Woe to the One Who Lies! , Penthesilea , Romeo and Juliet or Time Rocker directed by well-known directors, including Jérôme Savary , Robert Wilson , Peter Zadek and Jürgen Flimm .

Since 1996, von Tempelhoff has also worked extensively for film and television. He can be seen as a guest actor in popular crime series such as SOKO Cologne , Der Alte or Coast Guard as well as in literary adaptations by Inga Lindström and Rosamunde Pilcher .

Von Tempelhoff has recorded numerous audio books, including Die Seefahrt nach Rio by James Krüss and a child-friendly version of Die Räuber by Friedrich von Schiller . In 2017 he played a leading role in the short film Cigarbox Blues , which won the audience award at the Max Ophüls Film Festival .

From a relationship with his colleague Marie Bäumer , the couple separated in July 2009, von Tempelhoff has a son. The actor speaks fluent English, French and Dutch, also Spanish, he plays guitar and drums and lives in Hamburg.
