Kochkünste is a German television film directed by Wolfgang F. Henschel in 2006 based on a script by Ralph Werner . It is the 58th episode of the crime series Der Bulle von Tölz with Ottfried Fischer as the main actor in the role of Chief Inspector Benno Berghammer. It was first broadcast on January 11, 2006 on Sat.1 .
action
The restaurant critic Kurt Reindl is found dead in the kitchen by his housekeeper. He was stabbed from behind with a meat thermometer and dipped his head in boiling bouillabaisse .
Commissioners Benno Berghammer and Sabrina Lorenz find that Reindl has made a number of enemies, including top chef Julian Heuberger, whose reputation he has ruined, and TV chef Mirella Beck, who he claimed she couldn't cook and had in the TV nothing to look for. As it also turns out, Reindl secured an extra income by blackmailing several people from the hospitality industry - those who did not pay were rated poorly.
Sabrina Lorenz finds out that Felix Gebhardt, who does smaller jobs for Mirella Beck in her house and garden and works as a delivery person at a deli, bought a marigold ointment the day after the murder. If he is the culprit, he may have used them to treat burns to his forearms that he might have sustained while dipping the victim in the hot soup. Felix Gebhardt says he was injured while working in the garden and that he was home at the time of the crime; his grandma could confirm that.
Within a few days, the TV cook was broken into twice, but the first break-in turned out to be a staging by Mirella Beck and her friend and manager Alex Kroll to boost sales of the new cookbook; the second, however, seems to be real. Between the two break-ins, Mirella Beck cooked for Commissioner Berghammer once; meanwhile someone slashed his car tires.
Further investigations reveal that State Secretary Pollinger is secretly meeting with Mirella Beck in a hunting lodge. It is rumored that she only got her cooking show because the State Secretary knows the station's program director. Pollinger attempted to retire a porn video that Mirella Beck starred in when she was younger. At first everyone assumes that the TV cook is the secret lover of the State Secretary, but he makes it clear that it is his illegitimate daughter. Pollinger confirms that Kurt Reindl blackmailed Mirella with the video.
When the State Secretary is almost killed by a tree, he dismisses it as an unfortunate coincidence because the forest is being cleared, but the commissioners assume on purpose. Benno Berghammer says there must be a connection between Reindl's death and the attack on Pollinger. His colleague guesses someone who is jealous of Mirella Beck. They agree that it has to be someone who absolutely loves them. Your hottest candidate is Felix Gebhardt. In his handicraft basement you will find video recordings showing Mirella Beck in company with various men. Benno Berghammer also discovers the video with which Kurt Reindl blackmailed the TV cook. He pocketed it and set off with Sabrina Lorenz to Julian Heuberger's restaurant, from where Mirella Beck's 50th cooking show was being broadcast live. Resi Berghammer is allowed to lend the cook a hand and uses the opportunity to promote her pension. In the case of a film, the confiscated porn video goes on air instead of the announced walk across the Viktualienmarkt . Felix Gebhardt freaks out, threatens Mirella Beck with a knife and forces her to get into the car. As he drives away, he notices that the tires have been punctured and asks for a fully fueled getaway car. When Benno Berghammer tells him that State Secretary Pollinger, whom he almost killed, is Mirella's father, Felix Gebhardt gives up and drops the knife.
background
The shooting was done in Bad Tölz ; The Hollerhaus Irschenhausen served as the setting for the "Pension Resi" .
After this episode, Katerina Jacob , who had played Chief Inspector Sabrina Lorenz for ten years, announced that she was leaving the series because the television station Sat.1 had neither offered her other roles nor met her higher fee demands.
criticism
The program magazine TV Spielfilm writes: "Ten years of cops are enough, thought Katerina Jacob and got out after this case." Conclusion: "A thriller dumpling without a real bite."
