Katerina Jacob (born March 1, 1958 in Munich ) is a German actress and voice actress . In addition to German , she also has Canadian citizenship .

life and career

Jacob comes from a family of artists: Her mother was the actress Ellen Schwiers (1930–2019), her father was the film producer Peter Jacob. Her younger brother Daniel Jacob (1963–1985), who died early, worked as an actor, her uncle Holger Schwiers is also an actor and voice actor. Through her mother, Jacob got her first role in the three-part TV series The Red Scarf at the age of 15 . In 1977 she became known nationwide with her first title role as Grete Minde . She later went to the prestigious Lee Strasberg Institute in New York City for acting trainingand received her first stage engagement in 1980 as Gretchen in Faust I at the Bad Hersfeld Festival . To this day she always finds time for guest performances with touring theaters.

In addition, Jacob played numerous roles in film and television, including in Derrick , Die Schwarzwaldklinik , Eurocops and a leading role in the series All My Daughters . She was particularly popular in her role as Detective Inspector Sabrina Lorenz in the series Der Bulle von Tölz , in which the Bavarian woman played alongside Ottfried Fischer from 1995 to 2005 .

In the dubbing, Katerina Jacob lent her voice to well-known actresses such as Elizabeth Hurley ( Austin Powers - The hottest thing Her Majesty has to offer and a spy in a secret missionary position ) and Emma Thompson ( Much Ado About Nothing and See you in Howards End ).

She also appears on the cabaret stage with her solo program The Mysteries of Love or the Eerie Phenomenon of Testosterone .

In 1977 Jacob studied painting at the Munich University of Fine Arts . In 1998 she returned to this subject in Canada and has been painting successfully ever since.

In 2012 she took part in the seventh season of Dancing Stars , where she was eliminated in the first preliminary round. In 2013 she was on tour with her play Sara should go under the hood . She played the role of Sara Hastings . Her mother Ellen Schwiers stood with her on stage, she embodied her energetic aunt Martha .

From 1997 until the divorce in 2002 Jacob was married to the director Oliver Hengst. For several years she has been living with the German-Canadian broker Jochen Neumann in Canada and on Antigua . The wedding took place in September 2011. Her daughter Josephine Jacob (born September 30, 1981) is in a relationship with the Canadian actor Roger Cross .
