Ottfried Fischer (born November 7, 1953 in Ornatsöd , Untergriesbach municipality ) is a German actor and cabaret artist .

Origin and education

Fischer grew up on his father Werner Fischer's farm Ornatsöd (also called Anetsöd) near Untergriesbach in the Bavarian Forest . His father came from Elisenhof in the Paderborn district and owned a fish shop in Gelsenkirchen . He married Maria Wagner from Bavaria and settled in Bavaria.

Ottfried Fischer attended the Marist High School in Fürstenzell near Passau until he graduated from high school . Originally, according to his father's wishes, he was to become a lawyer . But after a few semesters , he broke off his law studies at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich .

Discovery and Career

In 1983 the cabaret artist Werner Schneyder brought him into his TV show My Guests and Me . He had his first solo appearance as a cabaret artist in 1989 with the program Hard is easy . Five years later, he performed his second solo, Was Doing, in several German and Austrian cities.

In between he worked as an actor in numerous television plays, films and television series . Franz Xaver Bogner got him a first TV role in his series Time Enough . In 1985 Bogner gave him the leading role in the series Irgendwie und Sowieso and the role of Felix in Zur Freiheit - the starting shot for a career beyond Bavaria's borders. Fischer played in Der Schwammerlkönig for Bayerischer Rundfunk . This was followed by feature film roles in Zärtliche Chaoten (1987), A Splendid Copy (1989), Café Europa (1990), Go Trabi Go (1990), The Terrible Girl (1990) and Superstau (1991).

Acting

In 1993 he played alongside Wolfgang Fierek in the series Ein Bayer auf Rügen . In 1995 Fischer's greatest success began in the series Der Bulle von Tölz ( Sat.1 and ORF ). There he embodied the chief detective Benno Berghammer , who solves murders in the small town of Bad Tölz in Upper Bavaria and at the same time still lives with his mother - the widow Resi Berghammer ( Ruth Drexel ). According to his own statement, the series was a mixture of a crime thriller and a homeland film . In 1997 he worked in Qualtinger's Vienna under the direction of Harald Sicherheitsitz with Fritz Muliar and Wolfgang Böck . After Hamburg the series drove him The guy pounds (Sat.1), in which he as a reporter with Carol Campbell went on a manhunt (1999-2005). From April 2003 to March 2014 he played the leading role in the ARD series Pfarrer Braun . In it he played, based on Chesterton's Father Brown, the Catholic Pastor Braun, who with his entourage is punished in every episode because he begins to solve mysterious murders at every new location. In October 2015 his internet series After Napping started . Since November 2, 2015, the series has been running daily from 7 a.m. on Fischer's Facebook fan page and on his YouTube channel. The format is produced together with the film production company Pilgerbilder Filmproduktion GmbH under the artistic direction of Mascha Müller.

cabaret

1978 saw the founding of the cabaret group "Machtschattengewächse" with Ottfried Fischer in the Munich Hinterhoftheater , the ensemble of the Hinterhoftheater under Günter Knoll (texts and direction), which also included Barbara Weinzierl , Manfred Krause , Margit Sarholz and Wolfgang Sell . Up until 1982 there were three programs: Be Objective (1978), People Are Not Tomatoes (1979), and Handstand on the Edge (1982). From 1983 there was the duo Ottfried Fischer and Jockel Tschiersch with also three programs: Mattscheibchenweise commercial-wise (1981), With violence comic (1984) and Störfall (1986), then with Manfred diving the duo program Anton and the Wunderkind (1988). 1989 his first solo: Difficult is easy . 1994 second solo: What to do . All programs ran in the Munich backyard theater. In 2008 Ottfried Fischer premiered his cabaret program Where my sun shines in the Munich laughing and shooting society. Shortly afterwards he began working with the quartet “Die Heimatlosen” (consisting of Claus Reichstaller : trumpet, Christian Ludwig Mayer : accordion, piano and composition, Leo Gmelch: tuba, and Cesar Granados: percussion). In 2011 the premiere of the cabaret and music program Extrem Bavarian took place in the Munich Lustspielhaus . Since then, Fischer has been on tour regularly with both programs. On March 9, 2014, he premiered in the Munich Lach- und Schießgesellschaft with his program now even slower .

He presented the cabaret show Ottis Schlachthof on Bavarian television more than 170 programs . There he asked cabaret artists about their brief solo appearances and gave young talents the chance to present themselves. On July 31, 2012, Fischer announced the end of the program at the end of 2012. He justified this decision with his Parkinson's disease . The last broadcast (173rd) was broadcast on November 23, 2012.

Fischer has been hosting Ottis Aquarium , a 30-minute cabaret show on the Heimatkanal , which is also recorded in the tavern in the slaughterhouse, since November 15, 2014 .

Political commitment

In the German federal election campaign in 2005 , Fischer supported the governing coalition of the SPD and Alliance 90 / The Greens . For the federal presidential elections in 2004 and 2009 , he was elected as a member of the Federal Assembly at the suggestion of the Bavarian SPD .

In January 2015, Fischer took part in the political and cultural start of the year for the European Left .

Private

At the beginning of February 2008, Fischer announced his Parkinson's disease to the public. Just a few days later he appeared live at the Cabaret Artists' Ash Wednesday with a solo performance . He initiated this performance with: “Don't worry, I don't do any shaking rhymes!” It is being treated at the Max Planck Institute in Munich , among others .

On September 29, 2016, he opened the Flood Museum in Passau, which he created in collaboration with the exhibition organizer Peter Syr and the journalist Thomas Haslböck.

Fischer has two daughters from his first marriage. He is a supporter of TSV 1860 Munich .

He has lived in Passau since 2017, where he inherited his grandparents' town house. At the beginning of June 2019, Ottfried Fischer took part in a general audience with Pope Francis in Rome.

On June 19, 2020, he married his long-term partner Simone Brandlmeier in Passau.
