Barbara Weinzierl (born April 1, 1959 in Klagenfurt / Carinthia ) is an Austrian cabaret artist and actress .

Life

Barbara Weinzierl left her place of birth early because of her father Kurt Weinzierl's frequently changing acting activities and after several stays in various places in Austria and Germany she lived in Munich , where she still lives today. Strongly influenced by her father Kurt Weinzierl and after meeting the actress Therese Giehse , she declared early on: "I have to go to the theater !"

Barbara Weinzierl had her first appearance at the age of 15 at the Luisenburg Festival in Wunsiedel. Parallel to the drama school, she joined an acting troupe led by Kelle Riedl , then head of the Off-Off-Theater in Munich / Schwabing . Her path led Weinzierl across Europe's major cities, which she played with pantomime and street theater .

At the age of 19 she formed the cabaret group “Machtschattengewächse” together with Ottfried Fischer , Günther Knoll, Manfred Krause and Wolfgang Sell, which in turn launched the backyard theater in Munich under the direction of Günther Knoll. She also played alongside Eddi Arent , Jochen Busse and Dieter Hildebrandt in various sketch programs .

In the following years Barbara Weinzierl played at various German state theaters, in touring theaters and on open-air stages, such as in Telfs at the Tyrolean folk theater or in Wunsiedel at the Luisenburg Festival . At the same time, engagements for TV series and television films as well as for feature films such as Kolp or Austreten (Schmidbauer film, known from the native Bavarian comedy " Hinterdupfing ") followed.

Weinzierl has also been on the road with his own stage productions in German-speaking countries since 2005. The play “Zwischenlandung - Liebe, Tod und Seitensprung” was followed by the erotic reading show “Boobs, Bar, Temperaments”, the Austrian satire “Oh mei! Du Austria ”and since 2014 her cabaret program“ We need to talk! Sex, Money and Enlightenment - Part I “- a mixture of role cabaret , comedy and elements of improvisational theater . The follow-up programs (Sex, Money and Enlightenment Part II and 3.0) premiered in 2016 and 2019 on the cabaret stage in the “Wirtshaus im Schlachthof”.

In addition to acting and cabaret, Barbara Weinzierl also teaches amateurs and amateur actors in the creacting acting training she has developed, a combination of improvisational theater , role play , classic acting elements , creativity techniques , the promotion of intuition and personality training.
