occupation

The dispute over three was a German court show that was broadcast on ZDF from 1999 to 2003 .

concept

The real judges, initially Eugen Menken , from August 1999 Guido Neumann , negotiated simulated court cases on ZDF with fictitious contenders from the field of civil law and occasionally private lawsuits .

A total of 637 programs were broadcast. In each of the 45- to 50-minute episodes, three "cases" were dealt with.

Unlike the court shows the private channels as Judge Barbara Salesch or the juvenile court , where cases of criminal law were negotiated, it was in dispute over three to cases from the civil law and hence to rather unspectacular, but everyday cases. The moderator Ekkehard Brandhoff questioned the audience about the possible outcome during the respective interruption of the negotiations before the verdict was announced and, after the verdict , talked to the legal expert Wolfgang Büser about similar real cases.

Instead of the amateur actors in court shows on private television , only professional actors played in the dispute over three . In addition to lesser-known actors, there were also celebrities such as Barbara Weinzierl , Brigitte Mira , Guildo Horn , Georg Uecker , Viktoria Brams , Jaecki Schwarz , Christian Kahrmann , Sky du Mont , Peter Bond , Annemarie Wendl , Hans von Borsody , Dirk Bach , Rotraud Schindler , Heinz Meier , Grit Böttcher , Tilo Prückner , Ludwig Haas , Rolf Zacher , Helmut Krauss and Christina Plate . In the 500th episode, Judge Guido Neumann also appeared in a double role as a witness in each of the three cases.

Charisma

The program initially ran from Monday to Thursday afternoon at 3:10 p.m. In early 2000, the fifth edition per week was introduced on Friday afternoon. This dealt with labor law . Here was a judge Ulrich people - the lawyer for labor law in real life - working.

Changes and offshoots

From February 14, 2002, twelve issues of the offshoot Ich let sich divorce ran on the same slot , where marriages were divorced by a divorce judge (also played by Ulrich Volk) . In contrast to the other programs, not only scenes from the courtroom were shown here, but the couples and relatives to be divorced were presented in films in which they tell their story before the trial.

From February 2003, as a reaction to the successes of the private broadcasters with similar formats, cases of criminal law were heard for the first time instead of civil trials.

attitude

In 2003 the show was stopped due to low ratings. The last episode ran on April 4, 2003, after which there were reruns on the slot until June 6, 2003. This made dispute over three the last court show to be broadcast on public television .
