Georg Uecker (born November 6, 1962 in Munich ) is a German actor and author . He was named Dr. Carsten Flöter known in the television series Lindenstrasse .

Private life and engagement

Georg Uecker is the son of Heiko Uecker , who was Professor of Nordic Philology at the University of Bonn until 2004 , and his wife Kari, who comes from Norway . He studied theater, film and television studies , Romance studies and Scandinavian studies at the University of Cologne .

Uecker, who lives openly as gay , is involved in the gay movement and received the ReD Award in 2010 for his commitment to the fight against HIV and AIDS . Furthermore, the actor is politically and socially engaged. Since September 4, 2007 he has been the godfather of the upper level center Handel 1 (commercial high school in Berlin-Kreuzberg) in the project "School without Racism - School with Courage" and since January 27, 2010 godfather of the project " Holzwickede without racism - Holzwickede with courage" .

Since 2008 it has become apparent that Uecker has health problems; in particular, significant weight loss was observed. When Uecker made his HIV infection public in 2016, he stated that his illness was due to the side effects of the HIV blockers and that he had now gained weight again through a change in medication. According to his own statements, he found out about the diagnosis in 1993.

Career

Uecker became known as Dr. Carsten Flöter in the television series Lindenstrasse ( Das Erste ), in which he kissed Günter Barton in 1987 . It was the first kiss between two men on German television in an early evening series. After a second kiss in 1990 with partner Martin Armknecht , both actors received several anonymous death threats after the episode was broadcast. The WDR and the Lindenstrasse production company GFF then filed criminal charges against unknown persons.

Uecker moderated television shows (among other things, he was the whisperer in the improvisational comedy show Schillerstraße until autumn 2005 ), was a frequent guest at Genial besides and galas and designed television concepts. He appears as a " Eurovision Song Contest Expert" on various talk shows . In films he played alongside Ralph Morgenstern and Dirk Bach .
