Blond am Freitag was a talk show hosted by Ralph Morgenstern on ZDF . It ran for the first time in May 2001 under the name Blond am Sonntag on the occasion of the Eurovision Song Contest. In autumn 2001 the talk went into series on late Sunday evening, but was then moved to the Friday night program in 2002. The recording took place in the studios of the Berliner Union-Film in Berlin- Tempelhof. The show was a further development of the Saturday afternoon show Kaffeeklatsch, also moderated by Ralph Morgenstern .

concept

The show was not a talk show in the classic sense, but the moderator and his (with the exception of the hundredth show) exclusively female guests talked about topics that had been discussed in the tabloid press in the previous week. As a rule, these were the nobles from home and abroad, the other celebrities in all their degrees. An integral part of the program was the rubric “the blonde men of the week”.

Morgenstern invited four prominent women for each program to discuss the failures and failures of the week with him in front of an audience. Frequent guests were the presenter Barbara Schöneberger , the cabaret artists Hella von Sinnen and Gabi Decker as well as Susanne Fröhlich , Enie van de Meiklokjes , Nina Hagen , Maren Kroymann , Lisa Fitz , Kim Fisher , Désirée Nick , Anka Zink , Manon Straché , Marijke Amado , Ruth Moschner , Lioba Albus and Lilo Wanders .

Morgenstern and his guests sat next to each other at a semicircular table. Most of the time, exotic drinks and snacks were served during the show. The cheese hedgehog in the middle of the table was mandatory . In the conversations about the celebrities, the guests commented on the events of the week in a humorous way. A popular target of the often biting ridicule were Dieter Bohlen , Klausjürgen Wussow , Uschi Glas , Tatjana Gsell , Eva Herman , Edmund Stoiber and Verona Pooth . The latter was occasionally a guest on the show.

The trademark of the show was Morgenstern's outfit. Every week he wore a different jacket with exotic motifs, which was specially tailored for this one show. A jacket never appeared twice. But it could also happen that Morgenstern appeared in a clown costume or disguised as a misshapen chicken.

Blond am Freitag was nominated for the Rose d'Or television award in 2004 .

On the occasion of the 100th broadcast on November 5, 2004, there was a men's round with Karl Dall , Hugo Egon Balder , Oliver Pocher , Mario Barth , Ingo Oschmann and Django Asül .

The program was last broadcast on March 30, 2007. From October 26, 2009 to November 20, 2009, Frauenzimmer was a conceptually very similar program on the German TV station VOX .
