Controversy
- After Pocher during the show Wetten, dass ..? On January 22, 2005, a viewer had recommended plastic surgery, he was sued by this for payment of compensation for pain and suffering in the amount of 25,000 euros. Despite an apology over the phone, which he later repeated publicly in one of his broadcasts, he was unable to settle the conflict out of court. On January 11, 2006, Pocher was sentenced by the Hanover Regional Court to pay compensation for pain and suffering in the amount of 6,000 euros. The judge responsible described Pocher's statement (“You look pretty old for your age”) as a “considerably disparaging statement”. Pocher continued the public insult in January 2008 on the television program Johannes B. Kerner by again gossiping about the woman's appearance and making fun of the verdict. Another lawsuit was filed against him for this. The victim's lawyer said the woman felt humiliated and that she was repeatedly asked about it in her role as a sales representative. The final settlement included an additional payment for pain and suffering.
- In October 2007, Schmidt & Pocher performed a sketch about a device called the "Nazometer", which was supposed to sound the alarm if there were problematic words relating to German history from 1933 to 1945. Schmidt and Pocher then made fun of saying that you have a gas stove at home and shower in the morning. Clemens Heni rated this as secondary anti-Semitism .
- In April 2008, Pocher was criticized unusually harshly for his dealings with the Norwegian singer Maria Mena in the program Schmidt & Pocher in the course of the program by Harald Schmidt . This was preceded by the visit of the artist Lady Bitch Ray .
- In January 2009, Pocher parodied the Hitler assassin Claus Schenk Graf von Stauffenberg , played by Tom Cruise in Operation Walküre , on the Schmidt & Pocher television program and met with a negative response, whereupon the Broadcasting Council dealt with the process on March 27th.
- In February 2014, he caused a scandal at the Vienna Opera Ball with an allegedly racist joke against Kanye West and Kim Kardashian .
- In May 2020, allegations were raised that Pocher had committed severely derogatory doxing because he had published excerpts from an almost 10-year-old revealing video by an influencer on social media channels . His publication of a website that was supposed to prove that a friend of the influencer had previously worked as a sex worker also received sharp criticism. In the course of this scandal, the Antilopen Gang around front man Koljah published a disstrack against Pocher. The media journalist Stefan Winterbauer commented that influencers, as public persons, would have to put up with criticism of their work, but Pocher went too far with doxing, which could also have happened because he did not have an editorial team to control it.
