Sonja Zietlow

Sonja Zietlow (born  May 13, 1968 in Bonn ) is a German television presenter and television producer .

Life

Zietlow initially lived in the Plittersdorf district of Bonn and then moved with her mother and sister to Bergisch Gladbach , where she spent the rest of her childhood and youth. After graduating from high school , she worked as an animator at Club Med . From 1989 she graduated from the Pilot School Bremen of Lufthansa the transport pilot license (ATPL) from 1991 to 1993, she worked as a first officer in the cockpit of a Boeing 737 . She was discovered for television as a candidate in the television program Herz ist Trumpf , which ran on Sat.1 . To work as a moderator, she first took a vacation at Lufthansa.

In her private life she is committed to animals. She is the patron of the Förderverein Schutzerinstinkte , which she co-founded. The association supports dogs in need and supports the training of therapy dogs . Zietlow has been providing clothing and accessories to the charity auction platform United Charity on a regular basis since 2012 in order to support the association with the auction proceeds. In 2018 she was honored with the Bavarian State Medal for Social Services for her commitment as initiator and patron of the association.

Since November 2002, Sonja Zietlow has been married to the television writer Jens Oliver Haas , whom she met while filming . She lives with him south of Munich. Most of her moderation texts are written by her husband. Zietlow has a sister and two half-brothers. With a handicap of 4.8 in 2016, she was one of the best German amateur golfers.

Career

Her first programs were the children's program Bim Bam Bino on the cable channel , the game show Hugo (kabel eins) and the program Hotzpotz on RTL II , in which she presented bizarre commercials from all over the world.

Between 1997 and 2001, Zietlow directed the afternoon program on Sat.1, the talk show Sonja named after her , followed by the quiz show Der Schwächste flies on RTL .
