All against one is a German game show on ProSieben .

history

It first aired on October 20, 2018. In the show, a candidate competes in the studio in 13 rounds against the audience in the studio and at home. The spectators have the opportunity to take part in the game rounds via a smartphone app. The candidate or one of the spectators has the opportunity to win up to 100,000 euros.

The show is moderated by Elton . He is supported in the experiments by Bastian Bielendorfer and Rebecca Mir .

production

General

The broadcast is produced live in the Brainpool studios in Cologne-Mülheim in HD and 16: 9 . The app is operated by Banijay Nordic Mobile.

The show is based on the format Alle Mod 1 (All against 1) of the Danish TV channel Nordisk Film TV Denmark .

Changes

At this show it was comparatively noticeable that in almost every issue, compared to the previous one, small changes were made to the process or the rules and the program was therefore constantly changing. So none of the first three editions of season 2 was identical in the process.

App failure

During the first episode of the second season, the app required for the show failed. There were previously small technical glitches with this in various editions, in which, for example, not everyone could vote, but no permanent failure for all participants. As a substitute, the audience in the studio was given the opportunity to vote and temporarily typed for Team Germany. The error was fixed during the live broadcast so that the app could be used normally again. Elton apologized to the audience the next morning via his so-called "press conference" via social media, ProSieben did the same with a press release and assured that they had a working app for the next edition. The error was caused by an overload of the system in which all data was first collected and then passed on in one fell swoop. Other TV shows in Europe, for example the Norwegian ESC preliminary round, had problems with the server.

Game concept

General

At the beginning of the program, a candidate is introduced who appears in the program. 13 rounds are played, and money can be collected in each round. From rounds one to ten, € 1,000 to € 10,000 can be won, depending on the game number (game 8, for example, gives € 8,000). In round 11 € 15,000 and in round 12 € 30,000 can be won. Round 13 represents the final in which the candidate fights for the money he has earned so far.

In each round a brief presentation of the experiment is shown first, followed by a question about the experiment. Candidates and spectators now have 30 seconds to type in a value on a predefined scale. The candidate still has four jokers at his disposal, which he can use in the game rounds (a maximum of one joker per round). He can interview his friends and family or two celebrities who are each sitting in the studio, have the average value of his hometown displayed or use an approximation joker, which brings the candidate's tip 20 percent (50 percent in the first broadcast) closer to the correct result. The candidate's tip is published directly, unless knowledge of the tip could influence the outcome of the experiment.

After the experiment has been carried out, the average result of all viewers who voted via the app is displayed. If the candidate is closer to the correct result, he will receive a credit to his game account. If the average number of spectators is closer to the result, the money will be credited to Team Germany's account . If there is a tie, both get the money credited. If the candidate could not win the final round, a random viewer will be chosen as the winner and a live call will be made on the broadcast.

Changes in season 2

In season 2, the "Ask Your Friends" wildcard has been removed, reducing the number of wildcards to three. In addition, from this season three viewers were called and the winner was determined from these.

Otherwise everything stayed like in season 1.

Recurring formats

In all episodes, part of the audience, consisting of 100 people, is given the opportunity to complete a task. These tasks are some kind of overcoming, sometimes combined with some kind of public "exposure" on digital billboards. The task is to estimate how many of the candidates will agree to this task for an amount of money.

There is also a task that takes place in cities within Germany that change from issue to issue. For this purpose, Rebecca Mir starts a public call within the show to come to a special place and do a task there or to report for it there.

From season 2 a small additional game was built in in which viewers can win money. This game has no influence on the rest of the show.

reception

"Ultimately," All against One "has some ingredients that have what it takes to bring a breath of fresh air to ProSieben's Saturday evening entertainment."

- Alexander Krei, DWDL.de

David Grzeschik from Oddsmeter.de praised ProSieben for the production of a new high-quality Saturday evening show and emphasized above all the experiments that were interesting and that were implemented well. Above all, however, he criticized the constant sequence of events, which made the program predictable and tiring and did not allow any dynamism or tension to arise. In addition, he found the show to be too long with over three hours.
