Bülent Ceylan (born January 4, 1976 in Mannheim ) is a German comedian .

Career

Ceylan's mother Hilde is German, his father Ahmet Ceylan, who died in 2012, was Turkish . Ceylan has three older siblings. He attended the Friedrich-Ebert-Grundschule in Mannheim in the Waldhof district and the Ludwig-Frank-Gymnasium. In the eleventh grade he performed for the first time with a Boris Becker parody with great success with teachers and students. At the Abi-Ball 1998 he repeated the success by appearing as Helmut Kohl .

After graduating from high school in 1995, he completed an internship at VIVA and the Rhineland-Palatinate radio station RPR1 . There he met the comedy writer of the morning show Roland Junghans , who wrote the program Produzier 'mich net! developed and still works with him today. Ceylan had the first appearances on small stages, studied philosophy and political science from 1998 , but gave up the studies in favor of his stage career.

The next program Nou Mässitsch followed in 1999 ! , further appearances at competitions and the first contact with Thomas Hermanns and the Cologne Comedy School . Ceylan was traveling nationwide with a “best of” of his previous programs, again under the title Produzier 'mich net! . In November 2002 the successful Döner for one program started , with which Ceylan (for the first time under the direction of Geriet Schieske ) achieved the nationwide breakthrough. In his programs, Ceylan takes on the quirks of German Turks and Mannheimers in various roles . He exposes prejudices and absurdities in the way different cultures deal with one another and denounces them or makes fun of them.

The premiere of his program half-faked (with additional text contributions by cabaret artist Frederic Hormuth ) was on October 8, 2005; it was also broadcast by ZDF in July 2006 . This was followed in 2007 by Kebabbel net , the program that RTL later recorded in the Mannheim SAP Arena and broadcast in September 2009. In October 2009 Ceylan received the German Comedy Award in the Newcomer category and in May 2010 the CIVIS Media Award for Integration . At the same time he celebrated its premiere with his program Ganz schön turbülent and in 2010 received the German Comedy Award for best comedian. His program Wilde Kreatürken started in 2011 and was also recorded for RTL in the summer of 2012. This was followed by his HAARDROCK program , which premiered in Heidelberg in January 2014. At Rocco del Schlacko he performed with the nu-metal band Korn . In August 2010 Ceylan appeared as the first comedian at the metal festival Summer Breeze . He also performed at Wacken Open Air in August 2011 and July 2014 and in June 2012 in front of 40,000 spectators in the Commerzbank-Arena in Frankfurt. In March 2018 Ceylan played his first leading role in the movie Verpiss dich, Schneewittchen .

Television appearances

Ceylan appeared in the television program Quatsch Comedy Club and numerous other television programs (including Ottis Schlachthof ). As an actor, he acted as Mustafa in some episodes of the Hausmeister Krause series and as a joker in the bath salt film The Baby with the Gold Tooth, and as Jonny he was one of the regular actors in the sitcom Moving Men from Sönke Wortmann's film. In June 2008 he took part in Stefan Raab's Autoball European Championship for Turkey. In May 2009 he was on the jury for the show Mascerade - Germany is bending .

In February 2011 Ceylan received his own RTL show The Bülent Ceylan Show , of which a total of 27 episodes were produced in five seasons until March 2017. Between September 2014 and October 2015 Ceylan hosted twelve editions of the stand-up show Bülent & his friends . In March 2015, Ceylan took part in the television show The Game Begins . From December 2015 to June 2016 there were two editions of Bülent's big surprise show on RTL. In June 2017, Ceylan faced Chris Tall on the show Shall we bet ?! Bülent against Chris in various competitions. In 2012 Ceylan was a permanent member of the RTL Comedy Week . He is also a regular guest on various comedy and quiz shows, including Genial besides and Who knows something? . In September 2018, Ceylan switched from RTL to Sat.1, where he moderated the game show Game of Games . In 2019 he appeared on The Masked Singer as "Engel". In the fourth episode of the second season he was there again as a guest judge.

social commitment

He campaigns for the Mannheim AIDS aid organization, the Sterntaler children's hospice there and various anti-racism projects, such as All kids are VIPs and respect! No place for racism . As a reading ambassador for the Reading Foundation , he advertises reading in television spots.
