Deutscher Traum is the eighth solo album by the German rapper Eko Fresh . It was released on November 14, 2014 on the Punchline label as a standard, premium and limited edition, and is distributed by Groove Attack .

production

Eko Fresh himself and his label boss Spaiche acted as executive producers on the album . Most of the songs were produced by the music producer Phat Crispy , who contributed nine or eleven beats. Ear2ThaBeat was involved in five productions, while Isy B produced six and seven songs respectively. Further instrumentals are from The Breed, Xatar , Dr. Zorn and DJ Desue .

Cover design

The album cover is a painted picture showing Eko Fresh's face. He looks at the viewer and in the background the colors black, red and gold can be seen. On the left of the picture there are the brown lettering Eko Fresh and Deutscher Traum as well as the federal eagle , one wing of which consists of a crescent moon .

Guest Posts

In addition to Eko Fresh, other artists appear on ten or 14 songs on the album. The rapper Sido is involved in the song Gheddo Reloaded , while the singer Sami Nasser can be heard on Orient Express . The Cologne band Brings has a guest appearance on the track Es brennt , and the rapper Samy Deluxe supports Eko Fresh in Fettsackstyle . The rappers Farid Bang and Summer Cem are featured on the song GD 4 Life , while Alta is a collaboration with the comedian Bülent Ceylan , who appears here as MC Hassan. The piece Easy Prey is a collaboration with rapper Xatar , and Real Hip Hop is the rapper Schwesta Ewa heard. In This is already the singer is Tim Bendzko represented, and on the title Hallus & muffins Eko Fresh is working with rapper DCVDNS together. The premium and limited editions also feature guest contributions by commentator Frank Buschmann , rappers Celo & Abdi , Mr. Capone-E and Ali Bumaye, and singer Ado Kojo .

Deutscher Traum entered the German album charts at number 6 on November 28, 2014, and was at number 50 and 81 in the following weeks before leaving the top 100. The album reached position 10 in Austria and 7th in Switzerland.

The songs Fettsackstyle , U-Bahn-Ficker , Es brennt and Gheddo Reloaded were released as singles . In addition to music videos for the extracts, videos for German Dream , Orient Express , Lan lass ma ya , Hallus & Muffins and Real Hip Hop were also released .

Dani Fromm from laut.de rated the album with two out of a possible five points. She thinks that Eko Fresh, after its good predecessor Eksodus , is falling back into earlier times and losing its “prancing lightness”, although it seems “somewhat listless and at best half-motivated”. The rapper has nothing new to tell, but rather spreads "the old story, which has already been prayed down a hundred times: from starving [...] to a successful chart topper".
