Ado Kojo (born Samuel Shari Aaliah Adomako in Solingen on December 12, 1983 ) is a German R&B singer.

biography

In his childhood, Samuel Adomako was enthusiastic about music and he began to write his own lyrics to familiar melodies. In addition, his talent was promoted with singing lessons. In 2007 he drew attention to himself with his first EP Glaub mir under the short name Ado . He met rapper Eko Fresh and is featured on several of his releases as a guest singer. Also on the album Saadcore of Baba Saad , he is represented. In 2009 he was named best newcomer by the youth magazine Bravo .

He released his debut album Adotune the following year under the name Ado Kojo. However, it did not produce the breakthrough that was hoped for. Despite further support from Eko Fresh and other musicians such as Erick Sermon , a second EP titled I do everything for you two years later remained unsuccessful. It wasn't until 2014 that the singer made a name for himself again when he brought together numerous well-known rappers from the Rhine-Ruhr area, including Summer Cem , Sinan-G and Tatwaffe from Die Firma, for a song about West Germany called Westside .

Ado Kojo's second album Reise X was released in early 2015. The album met with little interest, but the song You love me not , which is based on the 1997 number one hit by Sabrina Setlur of the same name , did. He is accompanied by Shirin David . Shortly after its release, the song rose to number one on the iTunes charts. It stayed there for several days and finally rose to number six in the German single charts and number 20 in Switzerland.
