The company is a German-speaking hip-hop music group from Germany, founded in Cologne-Porz in 1996 .

history

Tatwaffe and Def Benski had come together in the project The Dual System even before the actual band Die Firma was founded. The three hip-hop musicians released their first double album as Die Firma in 1998 under the title Game of Life / Game of Death . With the specially founded label La Cosa Mia , the three put everything on one card, economically and musically. The debut album , which was received consistently positively by the critics, was an economic success for the band and represented the breakthrough. This was followed by the albums Das 2. Kapitel , whose single Cape of Good Hope made the band known to a broader public, The Third Eye and war and peace . The band's second studio album has already sold around 80,000 times.

The company's best-known song is Die Eine from the first album Spiel des Leben . The song is based on the canon in D by Johann Pachelbel . The continuation Die Eine 2005 can be found on War and Peace . In 2007 the first single from the new album Goldene Zeiten was released with the principle of luck . The rappers Nesti and Gianni had contributions to songs as musical guests.

Fader Gladiator , the producer of the company operation, before the formation of the band, the label lightning vinyl .

In 2012 Tatwaffe started the side project TNT together with the Cologne rapper Tami (civil: Habakuk Habben). Since then, they have released several songs together, including a contribution to Shut Up .

Members

Alexander Terboven is behind the pseudonym Tatwaffe . In addition to the company , he also performs under this pseudonym Solo. He used to belong to the dual system and La Familia . Terboven has been married to his wife Antje since 2005. He also has two sons with her.

Def Benski (own Benjamin Hartung, born November 28 in Cologne) is the band's rapper. He also appears as a solo artist and in the Cologne All Stars project . He used to belong to the Äi-Tiem and, like his band colleague Tatwaffe , to the band Das Duale System . Hartung learned to be an interior decorator and educator.

Daniel Sluga (born October 8, 1971 in Cologne ) alias Fader Gladiator is the producer of Die Firma , responsible for DJs and beats and founder of the LaCosaMia music label .

style

Musically, the band defines itself as follows: "Lyrics over beats represent good and bad". Tatwaffe, Obiwahn and Fader subsequently remained true to the self-chosen credo. The theme of musical dualism runs through all of the band's albums. For example, love, war (and peace), fear of the future, faith and hope, conspiracy theories and battle tracks are thematized or reinterpreted by the band .
