Rapsoul was a German hip hop group.

history

Färger and Neumann initially worked together on remixes for the Frankfurt record label 3p . Two of the remixes were produced by Glashaus for the single Du , for which the band rewrote the chorus. A previous project was a remix for Sabrina Setlur's single Baby . The two rappers performed their first joint appearances under the name Dreckskind & Pechvogel , with Jan calling himself “Dreckskind” and Steve “Pechvogel”. An EP called LebensArt by Dreckskind & Pechvogel was also released .

Planet radio was the first station to recognize the talent of Hessen. In 2004, Jan and Steve presented one of their songs in the Do It Yourself section and shortly thereafter became an integral part of the Chill & Grill tour during which the station toured Hessian swimming pools in the summer. During this time, among others, RTL became aware of the band and reported on the local program.

At the same time, Jan and Steve decided to rename the band Rapsoul together with soul singer CJ Taylor . The name describes the musical style of the group. After their first successful live performances, the band was invited to support the Backstreet Boys in October 2005 during their tour through Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

In cooperation with the Offenbach producer team Nachtwandler, the debut album Indescribable was created at the end of 2005 ; It was released on March 31, 2006. The first single was released on November 25, 2005, the track Desperate , which entered the German top 20 straight away and lasted for weeks. After the success of Desperate , the second single Gott schenk 'ihr Flügel came out on March 17th, 2006. The third single Du und Ich was released on June 23, 2006. All three singles were in the German charts. In 2006 the group's first headline tour also took place.

In 2006, the fourth single Sunshine from the album Indescribable was released . The song was recorded together with the former DSDS finalist Vanessa Jean Dedmon .

On February 14, 2008 Rapsoul took part in the Bundesvision Song Contest 2008 in Hanover with the song King of the World . They competed for the state of Hesse and took eighth place.

In December 2009 they gave their last two concerts before they split up.

CJ Taylor released a solo album in 2011 called Not Like Before . The EP Meine Welt followed in 2016 . Both could not place in the German charts.
