history
In the song Robin Beck sings about a positive first love relationship. Before it was released, the song could be heard as a single for a Coca-Cola advertisement. Due to the unforeseen popularity at the time, it was decided to release the ballad, and First Time became a notable commercial success outside of the United States .
It was released on July 1, 1988. The pop ballad became a number one hit in Germany , Austria , Switzerland , the Netherlands , Belgium , Norway , Great Britain and Ireland . At Easter 1989 the song was the winner of the first Top 800 hit parade marathon on Radio Hamburg .
Music video
At the beginning of the music video, Robin Beck prepares herself in a bathroom, then makes a call and walks through her apartment. During their tour, scenes of lovers are shown in fadeouts . Then she watches TV, turns off the TV and finally receives a visitor.
