Freezy is the ninth solo album by the German rapper Eko Fresh . It was released on April 22nd, 2016 on the hip-hop label Punchline . Groove Attack is responsible for distribution .
background
At the end of January 2016, Eko Fresh announced the release of its album Freezy for April 22nd. At the same time, the approximately half-hour music video Hartz 7 (700 bars) was released . In response to the sexual assault on New Year's Eve 2015/16 , he published the song Domplatten Massaker shortly afterwards , which received media attention. At the beginning of March, the rapper announced the first guest musicians on Freezy with the hip-hop duos ASD and Celo & Abdi . In the following, Eko Fresh received greater attention through his leading role in the ZDFneo sitcom Blockbustaz . Two days before the album was released, the mixtape was released shortly before Freezy on the website Hiphop.de. This contains already released free tracks as well as exclusive songs. With Capkekz , Tatwaffe , King Eazy and Money Boy , among others , guest rappers are also represented.

From September 27th to November 3rd, 2016 Eko Fresh presented the album as part of the Freezy Tour . He made 21 appearances in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. He was accompanied by the rapper Pillath .

Freezy entered the German album charts at number 4. In the following weeks, the releases fell to ranks 49 and 98. Eko Fresh's ninth album also took 13th place in Switzerland. Rank 14 was achieved in Austria.
criticism
The e-zine Laut.de rated Freezy with three out of a possible five points. From the point of view of the editor Marvin Müller, the rapper has " now established himself in the mainstream ", so that "there is not much left of the young Eko Fresh's hunger [...] ".
