Schwesta Ewa (born July 16, 1984 in Koszalin , VR Poland ; bourgeois Ewa Malanda , formerly Ewa Müller ) is a German-speaking rapper and former prostitute from the Frankfurt scene. Malanda is a Polish citizen .

biography

Ewa Malanda was born in 1984 in Koszalin, Poland, as the oldest of three children. Her real name was Ewa Müller, which she had changed later. She grew up without her birth father. The move to Germany was only intended as a stopover, as the family later wanted to emigrate to the United States . By his own admission her mother was but when staying in Berlin a theft transferred and the already approved green card fell for it. After that they lived in Kiel . Ewa says she had to fight xenophobia at an early age due to her migration background and was therefore treated psychologically as a child.

She came into contact with the red light district for the first time through a job as a waitress in a red-light restaurant in Kiel and began working as a prostitute at the age of 16. After graduating from secondary school in 2004, she moved to Frankfurt am Main .

In 2012, she rapped the songs Applause from Xatar's album 415 and Women on the album Hinterhofjargon by Celo & Abdi . On October 5th, 2012, she released her mixtape Reality . At the beginning of November 2012 Schwesta Ewa was a guest on the program NeoParadise of the broadcaster ZDFneo , in which she presented excerpts from three songs.

In mid-2014 she announced her debut album for January 2015. The original working title Dr. Defloration (where Dr. should stand for German rap) was changed to Kurwa (Polish: " whore "). For the album Schwesta Ewa worked again with the label Alles oder Nix Records (AON Records). Kurwa entered the German album charts at number 11, which is the first chart success in her career, and it sold over 20,000 copies.

On November 17, 2016, Malanda was provisionally arrested by a unit of the SEK in Oeventrop . There she wanted to record a new album. She was accused of forcing five female fans into prostitution. According to the Frankfurt public prosecutor's office, there was suspicion of human trafficking for the purpose of sexual exploitation, pimping , assault and tax evasion . Malanda sat then in the JVA Frankfurt-Preungesheim in custody . It became known that several searches had already taken place in her bar in Frankfurt am Main. On April 18, 2017, the Frankfurt am Main public prosecutor's office brought charges against Malanda, the trial began on June 8, and on June 20, 2017 she was sentenced to two years and six months in prison for 35 assaults, tax evasion and promoting sexual acts of minors . However, the responsible chamber of the Frankfurt am Main Regional Court did not consider the allegations of pimping and human trafficking to be proven, as witnesses testified that they voluntarily prostituted themselves and that Malanda did not force them. Both Malanda and the prosecutor's office and a co-plaintiff appealed against the sentencing revision and went before the Federal Supreme Court (BGH). All revisions were rejected by the BGH, which made the judgment final.

Malanda had lived in Düsseldorf since 2018 , where she gave birth to a daughter in January 2019. On January 12, 2020, Malanda began her prison sentence in the Willich II penal institution in North Rhine-Westphalia. She was not allowed to take her one-year-old daughter with her. In the meantime, their third album, called Aaliyah , was released on January 31, 2020 . After she was transferred to open prison in June 2020 , she was able to move to a mother-and-child prison in July 2020.
