Anton Vriesde (born October 18, 1968 in The Hague ) is a former Dutch football player .

Career

The first senior station of Anton Vriesde was the second team from Ajax Amsterdam , here he played with talents of Dutch football such as Edwin van der Sar and Dennis Bergkamp . After a year at Ajax, he moved to FC Den Haag , later ADO Den Haag, and played in the first Dutch league, the Eredivisie . With his team he was relegated after two years, he stayed three more years and played in the second division, the Eerste Divisie . Vriesde moved to league rivals MVV Maastricht in 1995 , after two years in the second division he made the promotion with Maastricht, the decisive factor here was winning the championship in the Eerste Divisie. There followed three years in the upper house of Dutch football before relegation in 2000. Vriesde played another year in Maastricht.

In 2001 he moved to Germany , in the third-class Regionalliga Nord for KFC Uerdingen 05 . His compatriot Jos Luhukay worked there as a trainer. He stayed with KFC for a year. From 2002 he played in the Bundesliga with Ruhrpottverein VfL Bochum . VfL had just been promoted to the House of Lords again. Vriesde was part of a successful time in Bochum, under coach Peter Neururer , 9th place was achieved in the first year and 5th place in the second year, which is the most successful year in Bochum's Bundesliga history. Vriesde never got beyond the reserve role alongside players like Frank Fahrenhorst and Raymond Kalla . His last year as an active football player followed in the 2004/05 season with Helmond Sport in the Dutch second division.

After his time as a player, the Dutchman became a coach. He has been in charge of the VV Scharn team since 2012, before that he was youth coach at his former club MVV Maastricht and Roda JC Kerkrade .
