Chris Tall (bourgeois Christopher Nast , born May 4, 1991 in Hamburg ) is a German stand-up and film comedian . He had his breakthrough in 2013 when he won the RTL Comedy Grand Prix . In 2016 he received the German Comedy Award for Best Newcomer .

Career

Chris Tall achieved total notoriety as a multiple guest on Stefan Raab's show TV . After he called for "jokes [...] about everyone - about the disabled, about gays, about blacks -" at one of his appearances there, and after his own statements about so-called "fringe groups" repeated the anticipated audience reaction "May he do that?" formulated, this leitmotif question found widespread use, especially on social media, and attracted Chris Tall's attention as a "characteristic saying".

Chris Tall appeared on the comedy shows NightWash and Quatsch Comedy Club . His first solo program was called Transfer Endangered! ; Chris Tall toured Germany with him. In 2015 he published his book Selfie von Mutti! When parents want to be cool , he has been performing with the stage program of the same name since 2016. Among others, Chris Tall was on stage with Bülent Ceylan , Luke Mockridge and Cindy from Marzahn . In 2015 he starred in the film Abschussfahrt , in 2016 the film Männertag came with him in one of the leading roles in the cinemas. Chris Tall lived in Cologne until 2014 and has been back in Hamburg since then. In January 2017 it was announced that Chris Tall had signed a three-year exclusive contract with Constantin Entertainment and Constantin Film . In 2019, Tall had his own show Chris Tall presents on Amazon Prime Video , in which he introduces a comedian in every episode.

Since June 2020 Tall has had the podcast 08/17 together with the comedian Özcan Coşar . The podcast is only available from TVNOW .

As was announced in June 2020, Tall will be a member of the jury in the 14th season of the RTL casting show Das Supertalent , alongside Dieter Bohlen , Bruce Darnell and Evelyn Burdecki .

Controversy

Chris Tall received criticism after, according to media reports, on October 14, 2017, at a solo show in Cologne in front of around 12,000 spectators, he greeted his audience with the words "We're going to torch the place today - so it's kind of a Chris Tall night!" , a phonetic and substantive allusion to the November pogroms of 1938, also known as “Kristallnacht” .

In September 2018, the then spokeswoman for the Green Youth Ricarda Lang threw him a sexist representation of women in a guest post on Bento in his show Can he do that? in front.
