Paul tank Comedy Game Night is a German comedy - improv - game show , by Paul Panzer , of moderated Constantin Entertainment produces and Sat.1 aired. In each episode there are two teams of celebrities who compete against each other and, as in the ProSieben game show Extreme Activity , have to explain or guess different terms.
The first episode aired on March 10, 2017. The last episode aired on February 16, 2018. The show was canceled after 16 episodes due to low ratings.
concept
Six celebrities each play in a team of three and compete against each other in several rounds. A team member has to explain different terms to his team and they have to guess the terms. There are different variants of how the celebrity should explain the various terms. A buzzer triggers a random generator and this decides before each round whether the celebrity should draw the terms, paraphrase or mime them. There is also the variant Au 'Backe , in which the celebrities explain terms under difficult conditions and since the second season also have to compete against tanks. You each have a time limit of 90 seconds. While the team receives one point for each guessed term in the first three variants, Au 'Backe receives two points for each guessed term.
At the end there is the two-and-a-half minute finale, in which four celebrities have to guess terms that the remaining two celebrities explain to them. The celebrity holding the balloon Danger Willi has to verbally paraphrase the term for his team. If the balloon bursts after an indefinite period of time, three points are deducted for the team that was supposed to guess the term. If the team could guess the term, the team receives three points and is allowed to hand over Danger Willi to the other team.
The team that has the most points in the end wins the episode and receives the Golden Paul Panzer .
Since the second season, every episode has had a specific motto, such as classic games, funfairs, improv or pub evenings. In addition, Nina Moghaddam has been a referee since then .

reception
criticism
When Sat.1 announced the show, there was mainly negative criticism on social networks. The presenter Paul "Panzer is not funny and the show is only the next format according to the scheme F."
The show was received relatively positively in the press. It was criticized that the show was not a new show idea. The concept resembles strong the game show Extreme Activity , produced by the same production company from 2006 to 2007, which is also to ProSiebenSat.1 Media belonging group channels ProSieben aired. The choice of title was also criticized as the show would not stand or fall with Paul Panzer, as well as the use of fecal language . It was positively received, among other things, that they had decided on a one-hour show and that the presenter Paul Panzer would not disturb. The selection of the guests in the opening sequence was also praised. By and large, the show is entertaining.
"The" Comedy Game Night "is more like a game night among friends - with a lot of alcohol. But of course that also has its advantages. "
"Although you will certainly not win a creativity award with this format, it has produced a surprisingly coherent lead-in for the new old" Fun Friday ", which convinces with entertainment and simple, classic entertainment."
