Panagiota "Jota" Petridou (born July 13, 1979 in Solingen ) is a German television presenter , car saleswoman and former handball player of Greek descent .

life and career

Petridou's parents emigrated from Greece in the 1960s. Since the 1970s, the family first ran a snack bar and later a restaurant in which Petridou grew up. After graduating from high school, she trained as a wholesale and foreign trade clerk . She then worked in various areas of sales. From 2004 onwards it sold Mini brand vehicles and in 2009 led the nationwide ranking of the best Mini new car sellers.

In 2010, Petridou was approached by Sony Pictures Television whether she would like to take over the moderation for a new TV - Docu-Soap format, which should be about the sale of used vehicles. She agreed and has been the moderator of the VOX -Doku-Soap Biete Rostlaube since December 2010 , looking for dream car in front of the camera. In July 2013, she also hosted a second program, Abgewürgt und Ausgebremst , which was taken out of the program after two weeks due to poor ratings and was reopened at short notice in July 2014.

Petridou played handball actively for over 22 years in the right winger position . Among other things, she played at Borussia Dortmund in the 3rd division and ended her active career at Fortuna Düsseldorf in 2012 with promotion to the top division .
