"Trumpeter War"

Stefan Mross (2013) with his trumpet

Stefan Mross got into the talk because of the accusation that his trumpet playing came off the tape, which has been publicly raised several times . Usually you hear a studio recording of music broadcasts on television , while the performers only appear to be playing music on the screen during a performance . It is therefore not always clear whether Mross recorded the trumpet himself or someone else.

In what is known trumpeter war before the Frankfurt District Court dealt with rights to the recordings of the late in May 2020 Studio trumpeter Alexandre Malempré . He claimed that in six pieces on Mross CDs he mainly heard himself. Mross denied this. The mixing producer confirmed the plaintiff's presentation, but was of the opinion that the studio musician's services were compensated regardless of the degree of mixing. The plaintiff stated that the recordings were made exclusively to accompany the singer Stefanie Hertel , when she had not yet appeared with Mross.

Mross repeatedly refused to perform some of his plays in court. Malempré and Mross therefore had to import the disputed titles to Max Sommerhalder as reviewers. This should analyze the details of the execution and assign the respective trumpeter. Furthermore, Mross had to perform some common pieces, including a. from Nabucco . In his court opinion, Sommerhalder then described Stefan Mross as a “bumbling trumpeter” and was unable to produce a high-quality CD. Mross received support from the Swiss trumpeter Beny Rehmann and from his sponsor Karl Moik . In order to rehabilitate himself, Mross, accompanied by an orchestra, blew a simple, but incorrectly performed version of Granada live in the ARD - Musikantenstadl .

After nine years, both parties reached an out-of-court settlement.
