The smago! Award is a German music prize with which artists have been honored since 2011 for special achievements and successes in the hit scene in the past year. The initiator of the award is Andy Tichler , founder and editor-in-chief of the online magazine for German music smago!

The smago! Award has been presented since 2011. According to Tichler, this award is the successor to the hit award Golden Tuning Fork initiated by Dieter Thomas Heck , which was discontinued in 2007. Only artists who are present on the evening of the award ceremony can be awarded. Exception: the artist is unable to attend this evening due to a performance that has already been booked. It is the first music prize to be awarded through an electronic magazine . Since 2018, in addition to the smago! Award in Germany a separate presentation for the region "Austria & South Tyrol" is organized.
