Warhorse is a German rock - band from Berlin . Her first album Schlicht & Griffend was released in 2011 by Warner Music .
history
The musicians Hagen Stoll and Sven Gillert, who come from the East Berlin district of Marzahn , performed as solo rappers under the respective artist names Joe Rilla and Tyron Berlin . In 2010 they founded a new project together, the Haudegen group. Stoll himself describes the style change he made, turning away from hard rap and turning to more emotional rock , as a “logical consequence of a musical development” and as a change in his musical message, which is now intended to motivate its listeners as “music of hope”.
The new band performed at Popkomm in Berlin in September 2010 .
Haudegen released her first EP of the same name on October 29, 2010 via Warner Music . On January 7, 2011, the single grandfather says followed . These first publications were played on the TV station VIVA and on various German radio stations, also supplemented with live performances and interviews with the two musicians.
After the pre-release Ein Mann ein Wort was released on May 20, 2011 , Haudegen was able to release her debut album Schlicht & Grabend on May 27, 2011 . In addition to various download options for buyers, the double album was also released on CD and vinyl .
Since Stoll and Gillert only act as singers in their performances, Haudegen is accompanied by various guest musicians, for example in 2010 by guitarist Alexander Dietz from the metalcore band Heaven Shall Burn . He was also involved in the production of the first EP. As part of the Schlicht & Griffend Tour 2011 a new line-up was introduced: Oliver Bienert (guitar), Nils Kühme (guitar, keyboard), Michar Plönzke (bass) and Christoph Schindelwig (drums, percussion).
A special feature of the singing duo is their nostalgic appearance: they wear the traditional black and white outfit of the craft boys and other typical traditional German working clothes during their performances . Tattoos are another integral part of the warrior project. In addition to appearances by the two musicians at tattoo conventions , their fans were able to have a band logo - a winged sword - stabbed at these and also at Haudegen's own concerts. The two artists also celebrate the releases with new tattoos on their bodies.
In addition, Haudegen, who had the names of the buyers on their first album tattooed, also took part in the television program The Perfect Celebrity Dinner . The burger from a fast food company called Mc Haudegen is also their creation.
The sixth studio album was announced for August 2020.
style
The band itself describes their style of music as "gutter poetry". Her musical role models include the two Berliners Pantera , Billy Idol , Everlast and the German songwriter Klaus Lage . A striking element of Haudegen's music is Stoll's rough and scratchy voice. Their songs describe the social problems of today's working class in Germany and encourage them to reconsider the old values. Honest work, camaraderie and love are recurring themes. While on the first EP Haudegen from 2010 there are partly harder pieces, the later album Schlicht & Grabend from 2011 only contains more rocky songs and calm jazzy ballads.
