Petra Frey (born June 27, 1978 in Innsbruck ; bourgeois Petra Kauch ) is an Austrian singer specializing in hit and popular music .

Life

After finishing school, Frey first learned the profession of hotel clerk . Her first CD was released at the age of 15. In 1994 she took part in the Eurovision Song Contest in Dublin for Austria . With her title For the Peace of the World , which was composed by Brunner & Brunner , she took 17th place. This was the start of her career as a singer.

In 1997 Frey took part with Sorry - I'm sorry at the German Schlager Festival and reached 9th place. In 2002 she took part in the Grand Prix of Folk Music for Austria together with Oliver Haidt . Her title Trennen uns auch Meere came in 11. In 2003 she again took part in the preliminary decision for her country for the Eurovision Song Contest and achieved second place with the title This Night Should Never End, written by Ralph Siegel and Bernd Opinioner .

Petra Frey also sings duets, among others with Andy Borg , Andreas Fulterer and Andreas Winkler .

In 2012 she took part in the Austrian TV show Dancing Stars , where she won together with dance partner Vadim Garbuzov .

Since September 2014 she has been a juror for the talent show Die große Chance . From 2012 to 2015 she hosted the Starnacht Countdown on ORF.

Their daughter was born in 2016
