Simone Stelzer (born October 1, 1969 in Vienna ) is an Austrian pop singer and actress . She is part of the Schlager duo Simone & Charly Brunner .

biography

After her birth in Vienna, Simone Stelzer grew up in Herzogenburg . She attended HTL Krems , where she graduated with a high school diploma in restoration.

She began her career at the age of 15 as a singer in the band "Peter Pan", founded in 1984 by Peter Pansky, which made it into the Ö3 charts in 1985 with the single A Night in Hippodrome .

Simone Stelzer represented Austria with the song No more walls at the 1990 Eurovision Song Contest and took tenth place. The appearance was the beginning of her career as a pop singer and actress. Four years later, she took part again in the Austrian preliminary round with radio , but only achieved fourth place.

With the album Wahre Liebe , Simone made her breakthrough in 1994 and her best-known hit with the title song of the same name. Rolf Köhler , Michael Scholz, Detlef Wiedeke and Birger Corleis, who had been choir singers in many Dieter Bohlen productions for Modern Talking and CC Catch, played on the album . Simone released eight official albums (without best-of), first in German rock, then in the then hip dance sound, and since the late 1990s increasingly in the modern hit area. She played in films such as Happy Divorced and Happy Chaotic, in the TV series Tohuwabohu , at the Winnetou Games in Weitensfeld im Gurktal and at Felix Dvorak's Festival in Berndorf.

In 2006 she took part in the second season of the ORF show Dancing Stars . With her dance partner Alexander Kreissl she reached the 5th place. In the following year Simone was seen as a juror together with Toni Polster and Gregor Bloéb in the program It's Showtime on the Austrian TV channel ATV .

In 2007 the single Alles durch die Liebe was released, a cover version of the title song Way Back into Love from the film Mitten ins Herz in a duet with Bernhard Brink . As a result, she took part in the Austrian qualification for the Eurovision Dance Contest 2008 , but failed.

After separating from her former record label Koch Universal , she signed a contract with “Gloriella”, Jack White's record label , which also composed and wrote her single 1000 times dreamed . In 2009 Ariola released Simone's album Morgenrot, which reached gold status in Austria. It was produced by David Brandes .

On October 3rd, 2009 Simone married her Dancing Stars partner Alexander Kreissl in Dürnstein . In 2013 the couple separated again and they have been divorced since 2015.

The album Pur from 2012 was also released under Ariola and is Simone's last solo album to date. David Brandes was a producer. On this album there is a duet song with the Austrian pop singer Charly Brunner from Brunner & Brunner . This duet I am still thinking of you was the start of a long collaboration with Charly Brunner. They released three albums together. They each changed their duet name. On the album Das kleine große Leben they called themselves Charly Brunner & Simone, on Alles geht! Brunner & Stelzer and since the duet album Wahre Liebe Simone & Charly Brunner. After the years of cooperation Simone and Charlie gave in the Heimlich show of Florian Silbereisen announced on 17 March 2018 their love for each other.
