Karl "Charly" Brunner (born February 28, 1955 in Graz ) is an Austrian pop singer . He is part of the Schlager duo Simone & Charly Brunner .

Until 2010 he formed the Schlagerduo Brunner & Brunner together with his brother Johann .

Career

Charly Brunner grew up in Murau in Styria and was already making music with his younger brother Johann from the age of 15. First they appeared as cover band Happy in their homeland, then they became known as Brunner & Brunner with pop music before they announced their separation in 2010 after 38 years together. Both announced that they wanted to continue solo in different musical directions. Charly Brunner stayed in the popular Schlager and released his first own single Whatever you do at the end of 2011 . His solo debut album I believe in love was released in February 2012 and was able to build on his earlier successes with a top 10 placement in Austria. Brunner writes most of the lyrics of his songs himself.

In the same year he began working with the singer Simone Stelzer . They recorded albums together first as Charly Brunner & Simone and then as Brunner & Stelzer . In 2014 they received an Amadeus Award in the "Schlager" category.

In the Heimlich show of Florian Silbereisen on March 17th, 2018 gave Simone Stelzer and Charly Brunner their love known.
