Gary Lux (* 26 January 1959 in Kingston , Ontario , Canada as Gerhard Lux ) is an Austrian singer , composer and music producer .

Life

Gary Lux came to Austria as a child. He trained in electrical engineering, but mainly devoted himself to music, especially the piano.

In the late 1980s, Gary Lux lived in the USA for a few years. In Los Angeles he worked with John Travolta , Chick Corea and Julia Migenes . As a musician, he toured with Wolfgang Ambros , Rainhard Fendrich and Georg Danzer . Lux was the musical director of programs such as the Grand Prix of Folk Music , Starnacht am Wörthersee, Starnacht im Montafon and When the Music is Playing - Summer Open Air . For the ORF - charity event light into the darkness , he composed Who is right that in the mission of Marianne Mendt , Sigrid Hauser, Andreas Steppan , Viktor Gernot and it was sung himself. Along with Bring ein Licht by Udo Jürgens, this song was the second anthem of the campaign, because it was played at the beginning and at the end of the Licht-ins-Dunkel-Gala. In addition, Lux wrote and produced the Ö3 anniversary CD, like the first time, and was in the charts for 14 weeks.

Gary Lux has two sons and was married. However, his wife died on April 4, 2011 after a serious illness.
