Thomas Forstner
Thomas Forstner (born December 3, 1969 in Deutsch-Wagram ) is an Austrian singer .
Life
He had his greatest success at the age of 19 at the Eurovision Song Contest 1989 in Lausanne with the contribution Nur ein Lied (composed by Dieter Bohlen , text by Joachim Horn-Bernges ). He finished 5th out of 22nd, one of the best Austrian results in the competition. The song reached number 1 in the Austrian charts.
The English version of this song, Song of Love, was a theme song for the episode Das Spiel ist aus from the ZDF crime series Der Alte . The single When the Sun Shines at Night (English version: Don't Say Goodbye Tonight) , also produced by Dieter Bohlen, made it into the top 10 in Austria.
Thomas Forstner competed at the Eurovision Song Contest in Rome in 1991 with the title Venice in the Rain (composed by Robby Musenbichler and Hubert Moser, text by Wolfgang Eltner). With 0 points, he finished last of 22 places.
Forstner married Vanessa Desirée Thun-Hohenstein (* 1967) in October 1991 . In 1995 a daughter was born. In 1998 the marriage ended in divorce.
After a long musical break, several productions followed in different styles, including pop , soul , classical , chill-out , lounge and crossover .
Thomas Forstner is currently working full-time as a software developer. Musically he worked on the live project Nightfall Sessions - A Tribute Lounge .
On September 16, 2009, Thomas Forstner married his long-time partner Bianca Rosenberg from Vienna in Deutsch-Wagram. Since 2017 both have lived in Frantschach-St. Getraud in the Carinthian Lavant Valley.
