Joachim Horn-Bernges

Joachim Horn-Bernges , actually Hans-Joachim Horn-Bernges (born October 27, 1949 in Bochum ) is a German songwriter , songwriter and music producer who is mainly active in the hit area . He also works under the pseudonyms Balzheim , Christopher Horn and Little Big Horn and has been involved in nearly 400 record releases since the 1970s.

life and work

Horn-Bernges was born in Bochum, but now lives in Gera . He originally completed an apprenticeship as a carpenter and then studied architecture. In 1971 one of his tracks was released for the first time, Moog Song by Craig Bolyn and the Munchkins. Horn-Bernges has been writing for numerous, mostly German-speaking musicians since the 1970s, especially from the hit area. A great success was Jenseits von Eden by Nino de Angelo in 1983. Hello Again by Howard Carpendale , for whom he has been writing numerous titles since the mid-1970s , also comes from the same year . He also wrote and produced in the 1980s and 1990s for Al Bano & Romina Power , Andreas Martin , die Wildecker Herzbuben , Peter Alexander , Karel Gott , Peter Hofmann , Roger Whittaker , Roy Black , Tommy Steiner , Vicky Leandros , Wolfgang Ziegler and a few more.

Occasionally he tried himself as a singer under the name Joachim Horn, for example his single Du rufst mich, San Franzisco was released by EMI in 1979 and the following year Verloren , a German version of the ELO song Confusion .

Together with Carpendale he was also involved in the composition of the theme song Hurra, hurra, der Pumuckl is there for the German television series Meister Eder and his Pumuckl and the movie of the same name.

Four of his songs were subsequently featured in the Eurovision Song Contest : Nur ein Lied by Thomas Forstner (1989) for Austria (fifth place), Flieger by Nino de Angelo (also 1989) for Germany (14th place), Together by Tony Wegas (1992) for Austria (tenth place) and No Limits - Zadnych granic from Ich Troje (2003) for Poland (seventh place).

More recently, he has worked for Matthias Reim , Claudia Jung , Bernhard Brink , Francine Jordi , Lara , Linda Hesse , Michelle , Monika Martin , Andrea Berg and Helene Fischer (including Die Hölle tomorrow morning , Marathon , With nobody else ) and among others wrote numerous successful titles for her.

In 2010 he received the German Music Author Award in the "Text Schlager" category. The following year he was a member of the jury. He is a member of the German Text Poets Association .
