Al Bano & Romina Power is an Italian pop duo consisting of Al Bano (* 1943) and Romina Power (* 1951). The couple enjoyed international success , especially in the 1980s, with songs such as Felicità , Sharazan and Semper Semper .

Career

Al Bano has been a successful singer since 1967. In the late 1960s he met the actress Romina Power. They married in 1970 and started publishing duet recordings. They represented Italy at the Eurovision Song Contest in 1976 and 1985 and both came in 7th.

They had their most successful period in the 1980s; with Felicità they achieved second place at the Sanremo Festival in 1982 . They won the festival in 1984 with Ci sarà , and in 1985 they appeared again at the Grand Prix with Magic Oh Magic . They achieved further successes in 1987: Nostalgia canaglia , third in Sanremo , and Libertà . It was followed by Cara terra mia , again third in Sanremo in 1989 . Two years later, in 1991 , the duo performed at the festival with Oggi sposi .

After their daughter disappeared without a trace in 1994, they released the album Emozionale and tried to process what had happened. Nevertheless, the marriage broke up and with it the musical community. In 1999 they got divorced. Al Bano then started a successful solo career. Al Bano & Romina Power have been performing together again since 2013. In 2015 they released a new live album. For health reasons, the duo had planned to leave for 2018. Since Al Bano had since recovered quickly after his heart attack, it was announced in December 2018 that they are also planning to perform together in 2019. In 2020, Al Bano & Romina Power performed their new song Raccogli l'attimo as guests at the 2020 San Remo Festival. In February 2020 they released the album Raccogli l'attimo with two new duets and four new solo titles each.
