Luca Barbarossa (born April 15, 1961 in Rome ) is an Italian Cantautore and radio presenter . He took part in the Sanremo Festival nine times and won it in 1992 with the song Portami a ballare .

Career

After being discovered by the music producer Shel Shapiro , Barbarossa won the 1980 Castrocaro Music Festival , allowing him to participate in the 1981 Sanremo Festival . There he reached fourth place with Roma spogliata . The single was released on the Fonit Cetra label , as was the following self-titled debut album. As opening act of Riccardo Cocciante Barbarossa also had the opportunity to go on tour afterwards. He then released more singles, eventually switched record labels and began working with Antonio Coggio . Barbarossa appeared again in Sanremo in 1986 with the song Via Margutta , and in 1987 with Come dentro un film , the title song of the second album, which was then released on CBS.

A year later he achieved his biggest hit L'amore rubato , with which he landed third at the Sanremo Festival in 1988 and number one in the Italian charts. The album Non tutti gli uomini was also able to reach the top position. Less successful was his participation in the Eurovision Song Contest 1988 with the song Ti scrivo (Vivo) : He reached twelfth place. After the album Al di là del muro (1989), Barbarossa returned to the Sanremo Festival in 1992 , where he won with Portami a ballare . He was also awarded the Critics' Prize for this. This was followed by the album Cuore d'acciaio at Columbia .

After the live album Vivo! (1993) and Le cose da salvare (1994) Barbarossa took part again in 1996 with Il ragazzo con la chitarra at the Sanremo Festival and released the album Sotto lo stesso cielo . Afterwards he concentrated on his concert activities, was active in the Nazionale Cantanti and got involved with Amnesty International (for the aid organization he organized the benefit concert Tutti giù per terra in 1999 ). In collaboration with Romano Musumarra he also released his next album Musica e parole in 1999 , which was followed in 2001 by the best-of album Viaggio di ritorno 2001-1981 .

With the song Fortuna Barbarossa returned to Sanremo for the seventh time in 2003 , the song announced the album of the same name. After a few singles of his own and songwriting activities for other artists, he returned in 2008 with the album Via delle storie infinite . Between 2008 and 2010 he went on tour with the actor Neri Marcoré and the joint music theater piece Attenti a quei due , and in 2011 he competed again at the Sanremo Festival with Raquel del Rosario . The song Fino in fondo then found its way into the second Best of Barbarossa Social Club , where Max Gazzè and Fiorella Mannoia could also be heard. Since 2010, Barbarossa has also had his own music program on Rai Radio 2 , Radio 2 Social Club . The compilation Radio Duets - Musica libera emerged from this in 2015 .

At the Sanremo Festival 2018 , the musician achieved seventh place with Passame er sale and received the Premio Lunezia for the best text.

As a songwriter, Barbarossa u. a. worked for Luciano Pavarotti , Gianni Morandi , Paola Turci , Tina Arena and Alessandro Safina .
