Fiorella Mannoia
Fiorella Mannoia (born April 4, 1954 in Rome ) is a well-known Italian pop singer . It has won numerous awards and has had a number of chart successes.
Career
Fiorella Mannoia was born in Rome as the daughter of a stuntman and, like her brother, she worked as a stunt girl for a time and, especially in the 1970s, as an actress.
She had her first success as a singer in 1968 at the Festival di Castrocaro , where she participated with the song Un bimbo sul leone by Adriano Celentano and then got a record deal. Her actual singing career didn't begin until the 1980s. She took part in the Sanremo Festival four times , for the first time in 1981 with the song Caffè nero bollente . She later won two critics' awards with the songs Quello che le donne non dicono ( 1987 ) and Le notti di maggio ( 1988 ).
Mannoia has released numerous albums, the most successful of which include the live album Certe piccole voci (1999) and the album Fragile (2001), both of which were awarded double platinum awards for over 200,000 copies sold , as well as the live double album In Tour with joint appearances with Francesco De Gregori , Pino Daniele and Ron . In 2004 she reached number 1 in the Italian charts for the first time with her live album Concerti .
In 2005 she was awarded the Officer's Cross of the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic ( Ufficiale dell'Ordine al merito della Repubblica italiana ). One of her merits is her commitment to the fight against breast cancer .
Two years later, her successful album Canzoni nel tempo was released , which stayed in the charts for a whole year and became her third double platinum album. With the singer Noemi she also had a number one hit in the single charts in 2009 with the song L'amore si odia . The song sold over 300,000 downloads as a download. The double album Fiorella , which was released on her 60th birthday and consists of duets and new recordings of her hits, was her second number one album in 2014 .
At the Sanremo Festival 2017 , Mannoia took part in the competition for the fifth time.
