Enrico Ruggeri
Enrico Ruggeri (born June 5, 1957 in Milan ) is an Italian singer , songwriter , writer and television presenter . He took part in the Sanremo Festival ten times and won it twice; he also represented Italy at the Eurovision Song Contest in 1993 .
Career
Enrico Ruggeri began his musical career in 1972 with the formation of the band Josafat . The group renamed itself Champagne Molotov in 1974 and merged with Trifoglio in 1977 to form the new band Decibel , which recorded the album Punk and had a number of appearances as the opening act for partly international performers (including Adam and the Ants and The Heartbreakers ) until 1980 . This year, the group took Contessa at the Sanremo Music Festival in part and published the second album Vivo da re . But as early as 1981 Ruggeri separated from the band after a dispute and began his solo career with the album Champagne Molotov . The musical partner at the time was Luigi Schiavone. It wasn't until Polvere 1983 that the musician achieved his first success. As early as 1984 he took part in the Sanremo Festival with Nuovo swing ; two years later he returned to the competition and achieved the critics award with Rien ne va plus .
Ruggeri achieved his first Sanremo victory in 1987 when he presented the song Si può dare di più in a trio with Gianni Morandi and Umberto Tozzi . In the same year Fiorella Mannoia won the critic's award with the song Quello che le donne non dicono written by Ruggeri . In 1989 the musician also began writing and published the books La giostra and Per pudore . The successful albums Il falco e il gabbiano and Peter Pan followed . When Ruggeri returned to Sanremo in 1993 , he was now also winning as a soloist with Mistero . He qualified for participation in the Eurovision Song Contest 1993 in Millstreet , where he finished twelfth with Sole d'Europa . After another participation in Sanremo with L'amore è un attimo in 1996, he switched from CGD to the PDU label and in 1997 released the album Domani è un altro giorno ; In 1999 he had the cover album L'isola dei famosi follow.
L'uomo che vola from 2000 was Ruggeri's first Columbia / Sony album . After intensive concert activity, the musician returned to the Sanremo Festival in 2002 and 2003 : once with Primavera a Sarajevo , then with Nessuno tocchi Caino (in a duet with his partner Andrea Mirò ). Further album releases followed. From 2005 he presented the three seasons of the TV show Nessuno tocchi Caino on Italia 1 . In 2010 he returned to Sanremo again and presented the song La notte delle fate ; During the competition there was also a brief reunion with his former band Decibel. In the same year, Ruggeri appeared for the first time as a juror on the casting show X Factor .
Ruggeri's novel Che giorno sarà was published in 2011, followed by Non si può morire la notte di Natale in 2012 . With Frankenstein , the musician presented a concept album for the Shelley character of the same name in 2013 , accompanied by the short novel L'uomo al centro del cerchio . Between 2013 and 2014 he hosted the TV show Lucignolo , again for Italia 1. Ruggeri appeared as a guest at the 2015 Sanremo Festival , but again as a participant in the next edition (with the song Il primo amore non si scorda mai ). After participating in the festival, the latest studio album Un viaggio incredibile was released . In recognition of his life's work, Ruggeri was awarded the Premio Musica e Parole in 2017 at the Dante Festival in the city of Ravenna .
After a reunion , Ruggeri released the album Noblesse oblige together with his old band Decibel in 2017 . The group also performed at the 2018 Sanremo Festival .
