International participations and cooperations

From 2001 to 2012 there was a Barcelona- based joint venture between Mondadori and the German media group Bertelsmann under the name Random House Mondadori , which supplied the Spanish and Latin American markets with book products under various labels. The shares in Mondadori were bought by Bertelsmann in 2012 and the Spanish-language publisher was incorporated into the publishing group Penguin Random House , which was created in 2013 .

In June 2006 Mondadori took over the French subsidiary of the British media company EMAP plc and renamed it Mondadori France in September 2006. With 43 magazines, Mondadori is the number 2 magazine publisher in France.

In Germany, after seven months of negotiations, a long-term cooperation with the Langenscheidt publishing house was concluded in October 2005 . The two publishers intend to bring 16 dictionaries onto the market from April 2006 onwards. The first of these will be universal dictionaries for German, English, French and Spanish, which will appear in the Langenscheidt design. So far, Mondadori has mainly worked with Bertelsmann .
