The Società per azioni (abbreviated SpA ) is a legal form for public limited companies in Italy .

The SpA is defined in the Italian Codice civile in Articles 2325–2457 and roughly corresponds to a German stock corporation . The partner has limited liability and participates in the company through shares .

In the trilingual South Tyrol ( Italian , German and Ladin ), Società per azioni is also officially translated as “Aktiengesellschaft” and the abbreviation “AG”.
